Requirements
- University degree or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree, professional accreditation, and/or 10+ years relevant industry experience
- Experience in risk management, governance, compliance, or similar role is preferred
- Working knowledge of AFC legal and regulatory environment considered as asset
- Highly organized and well-developed skills in negotiating and influencing with the ability to deal with conflicting points of view and to effect creative and responsive solutions
- Effective presentation and communication skills, in particular with respect to delivering content effectively to executives
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to draft superior quality reports, policies, manuals, procedures, and business correspondence for an executive level audience
- Ability to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment and prioritize competing priorities
- Strong organizational and/or industry knowledge with a proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, complex and often ambiguous environment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, relationship building skills, and superior judgement
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to proactively identify issues and recommend solutions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates strong ethics, integrity, and leadership to promote a positive work environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and synergies
- Establishes and maintains the FCRM QA procedures for TDBG’s enterprise-wide ML/TF, ABAC, and sanctions risk assessment program, in alignment with FCRM QA/QC Standards
- Manages implementation and annual completion of QA activities for the FCRM RA program ensuring that the QA program is risk-based, comprehensive in scope and customized
- Interacts with business segments, corporate functions and FCRM risk assessment management and staff in the development, execution and evaluation of ML/TF, ABAC, and sanctions controls under assessment
- Serves as first point of escalation between FCRM QA team, and FCRM Advisory teams, FCRM 1B team, Enterprise RA team, FCRM executives, FCRM Testing, Control Process Group, Internal Audit, Regulators, as appropriate
- Develops strong relationships and work collaboratively with business partners to keep abreast of issues and escalate as necessary
- Acts as subject matter expert and strategic advisor by providing guidance on QA issues to management, business units and respective teams for area of specialization
- Supports team in staying knowledgeable on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank and the risk assessment program
- Leads a high performing team; provides on-going feedback and performance reviews, coaches and develops employees and ensures performance management activities are undertaken and completed for all employees
- Acts as a brand ambassador for the business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally
