Requirements
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
- Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
- Project Management experience at a high level. Advanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs or systems
- Requires strong proficiency in written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of federal and state research and development tax credits
- Collect financial, technical, and qualitative information
- Conduct interviews of engineering and finance managers to identify qualifying activities
- Provide guidance to project managers & lead engineers
- Work independently to analyze existing cost collection systems and project structures across RTX divisions
- Prepare calculations and forms for inclusion on the tax returns
- Research, analyze, and advise on the tax treatment of a broad range of compensation and benefits matters
- Conduct tax due diligence and review draft purchase and sale agreements to support RTX’s pursuit of potential acquisitions and divestitures

- Problem Solvers- Intuitively identifying tax-saving opportunities and resolving issues
- Experience in income tax compliance, planning, or reporting, with a strong understanding of tax regulations and filing requirements
- Experience with research and development (R&D) tax credits, including identifying qualified activities, performing tax credit calculations, and preparing supporting documentation
