Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
- B.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics or related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Space mission flight operations, Mission analysis, flight planning and timeline development, Spacecraft telemetry, commanding and sequencing, Operational fault management
- Former experience as a mission planner or a scheduler on a complex project
- Strong understanding of the principles and methods of engineering complex systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities
- Build the mission timeline, working with phase leads, vehicle subsystem leads, and the flight operations team to schedule mission events and activities
- Identify, derive, develop, and maintain mission systems requirements as they pertain to mission planning, including traceability and verification and validation approaches
- With the operations team, build operations products (procedures, documentation etc.) that support the mission timeline for both nominal and contingency situations
- Handle a diverse range of needs, constraints, and tasks from collaborators such as engineers working on flight vehicle systems, ground software engineers, flight operations, customers, and program management
- Collaborate with the training team to plan training simulations and other training activities
- Participate in operations for the Space Mobility missions
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics or related technical field
- Experience with mission timeline software tools (for ex. OnTime)
- Experience working on large complex programs with multiple partners
- First principles knowledge of all major spacecraft subsystems
- Experience with requirements definition and management, preferably using DOORS Next Generation
- Familiarity with system safety analyses techniques including Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
- Familiarity with version control, preferably Git
- Experience with configuration and product data management tools, preferably Windchill
- Experience working in a technical training environment for engineers
- Experience working with and proposing to U.S. Government research agencies (e.g. NASA, AFRL, DARPA)
