Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineer, Math or related area (Mechanical Engineering or Degrees with a focus in Structural Analysis highly preferred) and 5+ years of experience or Master’s Degree and 3+ years or a PhD for Structural Analysis & Test Engineer 3
- Active security clearance at time of application – minimum Secret clearance
- Ability to perform structural engineering tasks associated with analysis, design, and/or testing of structures
- Experience with at least one of the following Mechanical Analysis tools such as NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, HYPERMESH
- Experience utilizing MATLAB
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineer, Math or related area (Mechanical Engineering or Degrees with a focus in Structural Analysis highly preferred) and 9+ years of experience or Master’s Degree and 7+ years or a PhD and 4+ years of experience for Structural Analysis & Test Engineer 4
- Active TS security clearance at time of application
- Ability to perform structural engineering tasks associated with analysis, design, and/or testing of structures
- Experience with at least one of the following Mechanical Analysis tools such as NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, HYPERMESH
- Experience utilizing MATLAB
Responsibilities
- Performing static and dynamic structure analysis
- Reviewing requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems
- Selecting appropriate technical information and data from applicable products
- Determining the technical principles involved, identifying the design path forward and computing the engineering characteristics to ensure consistency with the specifications design needs and requirements of space applications
- Releasing results as ‘technical documents’ after review by the senior members of the team
- Developing innovative solutions and elaborating on design concepts
- Evaluating completed designs with supervisor and other technical groups, and making modifications necessary to achieve the most ideal design
- Developing, coordinating, and conducting test programs required to evaluate design work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Structural Analysis of Dynamic Test Fixtures & Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE)
- Experience with one or more of the following types of testing: static load testing, sine/random vibration, mechanical shock testing, vibro-acoustic testing, and dynamics/kinematics testing
- Experience with Static/Dynamics Test Planning & Execution (Test Director Role)
- The ability to take initiative and coordinate planning of tests with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders
- The ability to create and maintain detailed and accurate test schedules and to coordinate test support in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Experience with preparing and presenting comprehensive Test Readiness Review (TRR) packages
- Experience with troubleshooting efforts, failure investigations, and implementation of lessons learned related to testing
- Test/Analysis Finite Element Model (FEM) correlation experience
- The ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse team
- Strong communication and leadership skills
