Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in quality engineering, with a focus on new product introduction and sustaining quality disciplines.
- Strong technical foundation in electromechanical systems and manufacturing quality principles.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies (e.g., FMEA), validation processes, and product safety strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work across multiple disciplines.
- Experience working with manufacturing partners in Asia and ability to take evening and morning calls as needed.
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude, capable of balancing independent work and team coordination.
- Experience with PLM systems and regulatory certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with hardware and software engineering, manufacturing, and customer support teams to spot potential issues early, implement improvements, and make sure real-world feedback helps shape product development.
- Lead and execute qualification and reliability testing to ensure product readiness for manufacturing and launch.
- Facilitate risk assessments and validation reviews to identify and mitigate potential quality and safety concerns.
- Develop and implement quality controls and inspection plans in collaboration with contract manufacturers and internal teams.
- Coordinate regulatory and product safety efforts, working with legal counsel and external certification bodies.
- Monitor quality metrics during early production stages, analyze data, and recommend design or process improvements to enhance reliability.
- Oversee the quality and performance of in-market products, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term reliability.
- Improve and develop internal quality processes to enhance product reliability, streamline defect resolution, and ensure consistent quality standards across all products.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders, providing visibility into quality metrics and escalating critical issues when necessary.
- Track and analyze field performance data, including the evaluation of returned products, to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with customer support, hardware engineering, and field service teams to address and prevent recurring quality concerns.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by developing and refining internal quality processes, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into future product designs and manufacturing workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with complex consumer electronics is a plus.
