Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Biomedical Engineering or related engineering field and two (2) years of experience as a R&D or project engineer or related occupation in R&D engineering OR Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials or Biomedical Engineering or related engineering field and five (5) years of experience as a R&D or project engineer or related occupation in R&D engineering.
- Must possess at least two (2) years’ experience with each of the following: MATLAB and Python programming language; Statistical analysis of data using Minitab, R, and SQL database tool; Design of Experiments (DOE); Collaborating with external vendors, material suppliers and equipment manufacturers; 3D modeling with capability of 3D printing, machining, and injection molding, using Solidworks or Creo; Bench level/measurement equipment, including Instron, Texture Analyzer, force gauges, and load cells; and PLM software including Agile for properly release of engineering documents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies that provide the test capabilities, fixtures, and equipment necessary to support product development.
- Utilize MATLAB and Python programming language.
- Coordinate statistical analysis of data using Minitab.
- Employ Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques for experimentation and use relevant statistical techniques when analyzing data including significance tests.
- Work with external vendors, material suppliers and equipment manufacturers.
- Create 3D models for 3D printing, machining, and injection molding, using Solidworks or Creo.
- Develop specifications, test methodologies, and test equipment to evaluate design concepts.
- Utilize PLM software, like Agile, for release of engineering drawings, protocols, plans and reports.
