Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in the software industry, including 2+ years on big data-focused projects.
- Must have extensive experience in Big Data technologies and data integrations.
- Experience with Google BigQuery.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL data engineering pipelines.
- Must have high proficiency in SQL.
- Solid understanding of data relationships and optimization techniques.
- AWS/GCP cloud ecosystem experience.
- ‘Figure-it-out’ attitude and ability to efficiently troubleshoot.
- A high sense of ownership and quality of one’s work, and effective communication within the team.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, testing, debugging, and deploying applications using various cloud technologies in a hybrid cloud environment in GCP and AWS.
- Writing/Optimizing complex SQL queries.
- Write ELT jobs using various tools and programming languages.
- Proactively improve the current programmatic codebase and optimize existing ETL processes based on time and cost performance.
- Import and export large amounts of data in formats like CSV, JSON, Parquet, etc.
- Collaborate with product owners, fellow engineers, and operations team members.
- Mentor/Help team members as and when required.
- Be part of rotating on-call routines for various data pipelines.
