Requirements
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in the structural and dynamic analysis of pressurized components and systems including valves, tubing/piping, pressure vessels
- Experience with FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred) including structural, dynamic, and thermal analyses
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping module preferred)
- Experience with cryogenic temperature systems
- Experience overseeing, reviewing, or approving other analyst’s work
- Expertise with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics (hand calcs, NASGRO, VCCT, etc)
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, material selection, testing, characterization & allowables development
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities
- Conducting structural and dynamic analysis of valves, tubing, mounts, COPVs, etc.
- Providing technical guidance, oversight, and analysis review/approval for designers and other analysts completing structural analysis
- Identification of opportunities for safety improvements, cost savings, and weight savings
- Supporting configuration development and trade studies
- Review supplier analyses of COTS valves, supporting qualification efforts
- Maintain and report on work tasks, schedule, and technical status
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the analysis of components involving welding or casting
- Experience with statistical analysis for preparation of design allowables
- Experience with one or more of the following analysis codes: Nastran, Ansys (structural, dynamic, thermal, CFD), Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct
