Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a major contributor in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including structural, thermal, and mechatronic design.
- Strong skills in 3D CAD (e.g., CATIA, 3DX, or similar) and familiarity with GD&T principles.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting, and more.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and Creepage & Clearance principles.
- Experience with root cause analysis methods (e.g., 8D, FMEA) and ability to apply them to complex technical challenges.
- Proficiency with prototyping and shop tools to develop and validate designs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of core HV Battery components, such as the Battery Module, from initial concept through production.
- Lead the design of innovative HV Battery concepts through early design phases with the focus of cost, mass, performance and manufacturability.
- Work closely with cell & modeling engineers, battery systems, power electronics engineers, manufacturing, quality and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, thermal and electrical systems.
- Design prototypes, create 3D CAD models, and develop test plans to validate designs. Drive changes based on test results and real-world feedback.
- Interface internally and with external OEMs as the design lead for the HV Battery components.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in designing HV Battery components.
- Familiarity with automotive engineering & product validation processes (environmental testing, shock/drop testing, etc.).
- Experience integrating mechanical designs with high-voltage electrical systems.
