Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- Registered Pharmacist
- 1 year of relevant experience required
- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Serves as the charge pharmacist for a specific pharmacy location
- Responsible for verifying new medication orders
- Checking prepared medications
- Overseeing dispensing from the pharmacy
- Completing clinical patient review for safety and accuracy
- Provides safe, efficient, high quality, patient-centered, and evidence-based medication services to all patients
- Acts as a resource and provides answers to drug information questions for patients and family members, pharmacists, nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, medical students, undergraduate and graduate pharmacy students, and other associated hospital personnel
- Screens for drug-drug, drug-herb/dietary supplement, drug allergy, drug-food, drug-disease state, and drug-laboratory interactions
- Engages in appropriate hospital and/or departmental committees relevant to practice area
- Coordinates all aspects of patients’ pharmaceutical needs
- Oversees technicians, undergraduate and graduate student teaching, and provides educational programs for hospital staff
