Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated history of running self-directed projects, managing timelines, completing technology transfer, and executing projects in an R&D environment

  • Adept at data analysis methods and analysis software
  • Ability to construct appropriately powered and creatively designed experiments to solve complex problems
  • Effective technical writing skills, including ability to write protocols, design of experiments (DOEs) and other technical reports and documents
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity/uncertainty and a willingness to try new/challenging things
  • Extensive knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing processes and designs
  • Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Design the mechanical and electrical processes and equipment used to build the product
  • Lead and guide a team of engineers
  • Apply strategic plans aligned with business targets to ensure cohesive manufacturing process and line
  • Own the development and characterization of the process and equipment from concept to implementation
  • Implement inspections, measurement system analysis and perform capability analysis
  • Develop test plans, protocols and reports to document concept and feasibility activities
  • Provide technical oversight and coordinate Research and Development builds within a pilot production facility for multiple projects and project teams
  • Train technicians and operators to use the processes and equipment
  • Identify process risks and track mitigations through standard methods
  • Assist in scaling up equipment and processes from prototype to pilot to full scale manufacturing
  • Create and release equipment specifications and drawings, establish calibration and preventative maintenance requirements
  • Develop and maintain project timelines and provide updates and feedback to project leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 8-12 years of related industry experience
