Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize activities to meet objectives on time and with a high level of quality
- Ability to evaluate and apply design tradeoffs and constraints for design optimization
- Demonstrated history of running self-directed projects, managing timelines, completing technology transfer, and executing projects in an R&D environment
- Ability to think at a high strategic level down to a task-based level and switch between the two easily
- Good mentor and leader
- Adept at data analysis methods and analysis software
- Ability to construct appropriately powered and creatively designed experiments to solve complex problems
- Effective technical writing skills, including ability to write protocols, design of experiments (DOEs) and other technical reports and documents
- Ability to deal with ambiguity/uncertainty and a willingness to try new/challenging things
- Extensive knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing processes and designs
- Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Design the mechanical and electrical processes and equipment used to build the product
- Lead and guide a team of engineers
- Apply strategic plans aligned with business targets to ensure cohesive manufacturing process and line
- Own the development and characterization of the process and equipment from concept to implementation
- Implement inspections, measurement system analysis and perform capability analysis
- Develop test plans, protocols and reports to document concept and feasibility activities
- Provide technical oversight and coordinate Research and Development builds within a pilot production facility for multiple projects and project teams
- Train technicians and operators to use the processes and equipment
- Identify process risks and track mitigations through standard methods
- Assist in scaling up equipment and processes from prototype to pilot to full scale manufacturing
- Create and release equipment specifications and drawings, establish calibration and preventative maintenance requirements
- Develop and maintain project timelines and provide updates and feedback to project leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 8-12 years of related industry experience
