Requirements
- Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) within one year of hire date.
- Current CP Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) for Tech II and Tech III.
- One year of work experience in Central Processing for Tech II and Tech III.
- Proficient in two or more specialties for Tech II.
- Proficient and subject matter expert in all specialties for Tech III.
- Able to train in all specialties for Tech III.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect surgical instruments.
- Assemble, protect, wrap, contain, peel pack and label surgical instruments.
- Sterile instruments and equipment.
- Pull case carts.
- Clean, troubleshoot and correctly use CP equipment.
- Perform and record all biological and chemical sterilization tests.
- Issue and receive durable, moveable clinical equipment.
- Issue sterile supplies to using areas.
- Perform inventory duties as required.
- Verify that all sterilization processes have been completed and met parameters before making equipment available for use.
