Requirements
- Graduate of high school or GED equivalency examination
- Must be certified and maintain a certification in sterile processing as a CRCST – HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)
- At least two (2) years’ experience in sterile processing
- Ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of processes
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure health care environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented
Responsibilities
- Manage the reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation, including disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging, labeling, and sterilization
- Care for and operate ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and other equipment
- Complete quality monitoring and documentation
- Pick inventory management and clinic instrument rounds
- Assist with mentoring, training, coaching, and role modeling for new Sterile Processing Technicians
- Serve as a leader within the department who specializes in specific complex area of SPD
- Perform all duties with a commitment to excellence in quality and customer service
- Perform other duties as assigned
