Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, finance, corporate development, or related fields
  • Experience with strategic frameworks (e.g., SWOT, Porter’s Five Forces, Ansoff Matrix) and corporate development concepts
  • Experience with financial investment analysis and basic financial modeling
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including data visualization and presentation design

Responsibilities

  • M&A Pipeline Ownership: Proactively source, track, and vet potential M&A opportunities, contributing to the larger MA&D team’s efforts
  • Strategic Alignment & Target Analysis: Conduct strategic assessments of M&A targets, including basic financial modeling and alignment with business goals
  • Portfolio Analysis: Evaluate the current portfolio’s strategic fit and business attractiveness, identifying opportunities for optimization, growth, or further evaluation
  • Industry Trends Analysis: Assess industry and competitive trends and develop implications for the business
  • M&A Project Support: In collaboration with Collins and RTX Corporate Development, actively support all stages of M&A transactions in strategic alignment with Mission Systems
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across all business functions to gather inputs, build alignment, and deliver strategic insights that inform senior leadership decisions
  • Strategic Briefing & Presentation: Prepare and deliver high-impact presentations for senior leaders, providing unique perspectives and encouraging thought-provoking discussions
  • Change Agent: Actively challenge conventional thinking, navigate difficult conversations with tact and skill, and drive new ways of approaching problems and opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field preferred
  • Aerospace and Defense industry experience, including knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Experience conducting research, market analysis, and strategic assessments
  • M&A transaction and integration experience, including the evaluation of post-acquisition synergies and risks
  • Executive presence, with experience briefing and interacting with senior leaders
  • Proficiency in data analytics frameworks and statistical or predictive tools
  • Familiarity with data science languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
  • Experience with Power BI and Tableau data visualization tools
