Requirements

  • Minimum BS in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in a structures, dynamics, or loads related role with high ownership and accountability for hardware outcomes
  • 3+ years of experience with analysis of optomechanical systems including design of athermalized systems and development of structural, thermal, and optical performance (STOP) models
  • Experience with performing stress, strain, fatigue and fracture analysis in support of customer requirements sell-off, including airworthiness certification
  • Deep understanding of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and materials properties
  • Proficiency in FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN) solution sequences for linear and non-linear static and buckling analyses, modal analysis, frequency response, and random response analyses
  • Structural testing experience (static, buckling, cyclic) including sensor selection, data acquisition, and data post-processing

  • Work closely with environmental test engineers to support the design, instrumentation selection, execution, and data processing of tests to validate models and predictions, including static, dynamic, and fatigue tests
  • Stay current with advancements in stress analysis techniques, materials technology, and industry standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with space system dynamics analysis and testing, including force limiting and pyroshock
  • Proficiency with Femap and NASTRAN
  • Experience with structural analysis of PCBAs
  • Advanced Degree (Masters or PhD)
