Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in a complex production environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical assembly processes, subassembly integration, and production scheduling.
- Familiarity with CAD systems, ERP systems, and project management tools is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage production schedules, and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen eye for quality control, ensuring that subassemblies meet exact specifications and operational requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the Department of Defense (DoD).
Responsibilities
- Lead the subassembly team in the preparation, assembly, and integration of critical components and systems that contribute to the final product of the Autonomous Surface Vessel.
- Supervise and mentor a team of technicians and assemblers, ensuring they follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to maintain quality and efficiency in production.
- Continuously evaluate and refine assembly processes, identifying areas for efficiency improvements and cost reductions while maintaining compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure that designs are manufacturable, and resolve any technical issues that may arise during the subassembly process.
- Develop and manage production schedules for subassemblies, ensuring on-time delivery of components for final vessel assembly, while balancing production capacity and resource constraints.
- Ensure all subassemblies meet rigorous quality standards, collaborating with the quality assurance team to implement testing protocols, inspections, and corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation on subassembly processes, inventory levels, production status, and any issues encountered during manufacturing. Provide regular updates to senior management on progress and potential risks.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all team members adhere to safety guidelines while working with complex mechanical and electrical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in defense, maritime technology, robotics, or aerospace industries is highly preferred.
