Requirements

  • Graduate or PhD level professional studying areas in economics, finance, statistics, or applied mathematics majors are preferred
  • Familiar with at least one statistical/programming software such as Python, R, SAS, and MATLAB

Responsibilities

  • Assist on a research project that studies how credit card utilization and revolving behavior can be leading indicators of credit delinquency using the new consumer credit panel (CCP data)
  • Perform a thorough review of relevant literature
  • Become familiar with the CCP data
  • Perform data queries, data cleaning and merges, regression analysis, and forecasting exercises
  • Prepare all supporting documents, such as code, procedures and instructions, to ensure full knowledge retention and transfer
  • Prepare a presentation on their findings and present this to the FRB as the capstone to this internship.
