Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience preferred; OR Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience required.
  • Knowledge of the characteristics and operation of both gas and electric systems.
  • Knowledge of customer service procedures is desirable.
  • NERC Certification as appropriate.
  • Results oriented and proactive.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to make operational decisions under pressure.
  • Able to take on special projects.
  • Demonstrated administrative and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Developing overall electric ECC training strategy, including both transmission and distribution training.
  • Ensure all ECC training compliance requirements are met per regulatory requirements.
  • Oversight of all Initial Operator Training Programs for new hire Qualification.
  • Oversight of Continuing Education Programs for ongoing professional development of Qualified personnel.
  • Support Centralized Operations project – specifically training of new Distribution Operators.
  • Planning and execution of all ECC training activities.
  • Line management responsibility for ECC technical trainers.
  • Management of ECC training contractors.
  • Support local ECC teams on technical/compliance-related issues – provide technical guidance and expertise to employees engaged in the operation of the electric system.
  • Provide direction and assistance to operations staff during electric system emergencies.
  • Coordinate with operations management to Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational processes and procedures.
  • Represent the company on interdepartmental/regulatory committees and perform other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of customer service procedures is desirable.
