Supplier Quality Intern

Must be pursuing a four-year Bachelor’s degree related to Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 to be considered for the Internship program
Must have superior verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a global manufacturing environment
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) Management & Analysis: Work with plant and supplier teams to issue, track, and close SCARs in response to non-conforming material and components.
Analyze incoming quality data and use quality tools (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, 8D) to identify trends and recurring supplier issues.
Evaluate containment and corrective actions to verify long-term effectiveness. Support the implementation of supplier development strategies based on SCAR analysis.
Root Cause Investigation for Weld and Stamped Part Defects: Participate in problem-solving sessions related to weld quality failures (e.g., porosity, weak welds, weld spatter) and stamped part defects (e.g., cracks, springback, tool wear).
Assist in gathering failure data from shop floor operations and coordinate laboratory testing, such as weld cross-section analysis or tensile testing.
Help facilitate communication between quality, engineering, and supplier teams during root cause investigations.
Supplier Process Audits and Quality Readiness Assessments: Support corporate SQEs in conducting process audits at supplier locations using AIAG CQI and IATF 16949 guidelines.
Assist with documenting audit findings, preparing reports, and tracking improvement plans.
Evaluate supplier PFMEAs and Control Plans for alignment with product quality requirements.
