Surgical Support Tech

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• AHA or ARC American Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 Days of hire required

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation, delivery and clean-up of patient care during the intra-operative phase
• Contributes to the smooth operation of the unit
• Obtains and organizes necessary equipment, sterile supplies and instruments for each surgical case
• Assembles surgical supplies for rooms and case tables
• Opens sterile supplies for surgical procedures
• Cleans equipment (including decontamination and sterilization of instruments), work areas and reusable supplies and returns unneeded equipment to appropriate department
• Follows-up on equipment needing repairs

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in related field Preferred
• 2 years of relevant experience Patient Care Preferred
• 1 year of relevant experience in Operating Room Preferred
• Anesthesia Technician Certification (Cer. A.T.) preferred
