Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
- Military training as a scrub tech
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- 1 year of recent relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Prepare the sterile field for surgical operations
- Assist surgeons in gowning and gloving
- Drape patients for surgery
- Support the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Hold retractors and anticipate surgeons’ needs during surgery
- Distribute supplies and perform equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed
- Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety
- Perform specific procedures and/or help orient other staff to the department
