Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field.
  • 1 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge or interest in sustainability implementation processes, research, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of the built environment and awareness of sustainable building practices.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Sketch-Up, Sefaira, Cove or related software; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Conceptual thinker with ability to analyze and implement.
  • Explorer mentality unafraid of the discovery process.
  • Demonstrates initiative, ability to multi-task, and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to guide and coordinate team members, contractors, and consultants.
  • LEED GA or Accredited Professional or ability to achieve it within 1 year of being hired.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project team to explore and discover new methods, identify problems, and develop solutions.
  • Elevate design using the JLG design excellence guide to integrate design informing questions and high-performance design criteria.
  • Provide guidance on certification programs (LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL, energy modeling, code compliance, and lifecycle costs).
  • Analyze how to integrate sustainable design methodology into design solutions and elevate client goals.
  • Track key metrics, conduct research and analyze data, perform analysis/simulations, certification programs, and coordinate internal sustainability programs.
  • Prepare documentation and submittal to ensure timely completion in accordance with JLG best practices to maintain certifications, initiatives, and AIA 2030 commitment.
  • Contribute to annual strategy and planning for the sustainability team.
  • Lead reporting for JLG commitments such as 2030 commitment as assigned.
  • Lead JLG initiatives as assigned to develop new resources and training.
  • Track project performance using agreed metrics based on the FDE 10 measures assure high performance implementation on projects reinforced by firmwide process.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Living Futures Accreditation, WELL AP or similar.
  • Master’s degree in architecture or related field.
  • Architectural Registration or comparable credential of a related field.
