Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Data Mesh principles, distributed data systems, and domain-driven design.
- Proficiency in building and managing scalable data pipelines and data products.
- Expertise in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) and hybrid cloud architecture.
- Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proven ability to enforce data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, lineage, and compliance.
- Knowledge of API development and integration strategies for hybrid environments.
- Strong understanding of hybrid networking, including VPCs, VPNs, security groups, and IAM.
- Familiarity with integrating data products into AI/ML platforms and advanced analytics tools.
- Ability to define and execute a long-term strategy for integrating Data Mesh and hybrid cloud architectures into the enterprise ecosystem.
- Proven track record of building and managing cross-functional teams in complex, distributed environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across technical and business units.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges in data and cloud systems.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement a comprehensive Data Mesh strategy, enabling distributed data ownership and empowering domain teams to own and govern their data.
- Design scalable, discoverable, and high-quality data products aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish and enforce data governance standards to ensure data security, compliance, and consistency across domains.
- Collaborate with business units to integrate domain-specific data into the broader enterprise architecture.
- Design and implement hybrid cloud architectures that integrate on-premises systems with cloud-native AWS services, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Lead cloud migration efforts, including lift-and-shift and refactoring of legacy applications for cloud optimization.
- Build and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks for automated deployment and management of hybrid environments.
- Establish robust disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions for hybrid systems.
- Build and lead a cross-functional team of data engineers, cloud architects, and infrastructure specialists to deliver on the Data Mesh and hybrid architecture vision.
- Mentor team members, ensuring skills development and alignment with evolving technologies.
- Foster a collaborative environment between data and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
- Work closely with Generative AI and other Controls Technology teams to ensure interoperable solutions and scalable integrations.
- Act as a liaison between technical and business teams, translating complex requirements into actionable designs.
- Promote a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
- Implement monitoring frameworks for data and cloud systems, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and cost efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies to improve scalability, security, and efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years Banking, Financial Services experience
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture and cloud infrastructure roles, with at least 3 years focused on Data Mesh or hybrid cloud solutions.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Proven ability to deliver large-scale cloud migrations and data architecture transformations.
- Excellent communications skills
- Demonstrated facility to interact and work effectively with diverse teams
- Ability to lead projects with multiple counterparts across organizations
- Ability to work under pressure, facilitate discussions and conduct group meetings
