Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 5 – 8+ years’ related IT and systems engineering experience
- Prior experience tuning large servers for large enterprise level relational databases
- Experience supporting enterprise-class storage and computer environments
- Linux and/or AIX OS, VMware management (expert level)
- General monitoring system and Veritas Netbackup experience (good understanding)
- Enterprise storage management (intermediate level)
- Scripting and automation experience
Responsibilities
- Designs, implements, and documents computer solutions.
- Assists with the architecture and maintenance of MedImpact’s systems to ensure monthly corporate uptime metrics.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations to management on technology and services.
- Provides input for documentation on new or existing programs.
- Assists with monthly capacity planning and utilizes the industry’s best practices to administer and secure the computer environment.
- Restores servers in cases of data loss.
- Maintains current knowledge and technical capability with the industry’s best practices.
