Requirements
- 7+ years of experience performing systems engineering for weapons systems
- Experience with systems engineering requirements and concept development, design and development of system architecture, systems hardware and software design and development, and conducting Systems Engineering Technical Reviews
- Experience with system integration and checkout, configuration management, risk management, trouble report tracking, test and evaluation of system performance, and documentation of test results
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Responsibilities
- Deliver products and services to government clients in the directed energy field
- Work on complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions
- Develop advanced technology ideas and guide system development into a final product
- Apply knowledge of the systems engineering discipline across one or more components of the system development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Participate in program integrated product teams (IPTs) and drive the proper application of systems engineering processes
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with US Navy or armed services’ directed energy systems research and development programs
- Experience writing Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), System Requirements Documents (SRDs), and System Specifications and deriving performance requirements at the subsystem level, using a requirements management tool such as Jira
- Experience with combat system integration with command and control, weapon control, networks, display systems, and communications systems
- Knowledge of other SE disciplines, including configuration management, risk management, program protection or cybersecurity, system safety, and certification processes
- Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) techniques
- Ability to define system requirements and Design Reference Missions (DRMs), refine them as needed throughout system development, and develop the system design, including interfaces
- Ability to identify and support the test and integration activities required to verify and validate the system against requirements and needs
- Master’s degree
- Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
