Technical Specialist III or IV

Four or more years of experience with an Associate’s Degree or equivalent vocational/military training, or five or more years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience working in a laboratory or equivalent environment, adhering to safety procedures and maintaining equipment.
Basic proficiency with standard business applications such as Microsoft Office.
Quick troubleshooting skills.
Effective team player.
Ability to work under minimal supervision, self-initiate activities, and meet timelines.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the U.S. government (U.S. citizenship required).
Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.

Maintain and set up equipment, fabricate hardware components, and support scheduled field tests both on-site and off-site.
Collaborate with staff in fabricating and testing RF and digital electronics in a research and development environment.
Assist in managing the laboratory environment, including organization, cleanliness, equipment inventory, and calibration.
Acquire laboratory supplies and measurement and test equipment for the labs.
Assist engineers in setting up and monitoring test equipment and prototype hardware.
Perform tests with engineers, co-developing, executing, and improving test procedures.
Occasionally perform routine IT tasks such as patching, rebooting, and software installation.

Basic project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects.
Basic understanding of IT and network systems.
Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Matlab.
Layout skills: understanding of analog, digital, and microwave circuitry best practices; ability to create mechanical drawings of complicated structures.
Current and active security clearance.
Experience working with digital communication systems.
