Responsibilities
- Design, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Satellite network connectivity.
- Organize and establish engineering standards & standard solutions; coordinated work, and managed tasks.
- Design solutions, troubleshoot, and optimize existing networks utilizing multiplexing and Standard Military Cryptographic Equipment.
- Engineer solutions utilizing Digital Signal Processing, Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA), Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA), and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Timing/Encryption.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of existing and new SATCOM systems as directed by the NOSC lead technical representative.
- Develop standardized testing and cutover plans for new SATCOM equipment installs.
- Establish testing and remote monitoring procedures to ensure reliable operation of SATCOM operations in the USAFCENT AOR.
- Act as a consultant and provide feedback to the government to optimize the SATCOM networks.
- Identify and evaluate the operational impact of all outages.
- Report USAFCENT Communication status to higher headquarters as needed. Coordinate with external agencies for outage resolution as required by local policy.
- Perform notifications when outages occur IAW local policy, notification matrix, and any other SOPs, policy, and instructions.
- Prepare and deliver daily USAFCENT communication status report as required. Publish daily communication status received from all sites.
- Coordinate the Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) process. Review ASI for accuracy as well as validate operational impact. Submit ASI’s IAW higher headquarter guidelines.
- Analyzing, coordinating, tracking and routing for approval of all ASI’s. Assisting communication units with restoral priorities.
- Create/draft Publish Communication Task Orders (CTO) and Notice to Airman (NOTAM) as required.
