Requirements
- PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field
- Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research and transplant immunology required, with considerable experience in immune activation and immune tolerance
- Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals preferred
- Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01)
- Academic experience a plus
- Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant Professor level – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience
Responsibilities
- Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies in the area of transplant immunology; develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding to support research program; obtains and maintains NIH R01 or equivalent funding
- Writes and publishes research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals; attends and makes presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation
- Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in department, college and university committees and initiatives.
