Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering
Responsibilities
- Leverage your experience in Engine Operability for new products introduction (NPI), performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
- Utilize the latest thermodynamic modeling tools and techniques to analyze engine performance data and make program recommendations
- Improve state of the art with respect to gas turbine thermodynamic modeling techniques
- Work cross functionally with Performance, Systems, Aero, Heat Transfer, Controls, and hardware design engineers to accurately assess Turbofan engine Operability
- Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
- Contribute independently in projects
- Support senior engineers in defining the state of the art in Engine Operability to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities
- Provide Engine Operability engineering support to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives
- Lead efforts to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes
- Provide analysis of data using Operability tools
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
- Support technical program manager when appropriate
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior engine qualification and/or certification experience
- Demonstrated experience with gas turbine engine test support and analysis
- Demonstrated experience in engine thermodynamic modeling
- Demonstrated experience with industry modeling tools including NPSS
- Familiarity with high level programming languages (C++, PYTHON, R, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of thermodynamics and aerodynamics
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
