Requirements
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 5 year relevant Thermal Engineering/Analysis experience
- Solid understanding of thermal fundamentals
- Demonstrated thermal analysis skills
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the definition and development of spacecraft thermal control systems
- Perform system level transient thermal analysis of lunar landers in various environments
- Capture system inputs and perform system level trade studies
- Perform temperature and heat transfer predictions and document results
- Work with card level designers, system level thermal analysts, and systems engineers to ensure adequate temperature control of electronic devices and assemblies
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 8 years of relevant aerospace experience
- Experience solving a variety of thermal problems demonstrating breadth in analysis application
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, FORTRAN, Matlab)
- Familiarity with Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint, including model validation and test correlation
