Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other applicable Engineering focuses.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with proven technical and professional skills in job-related area required
  • Prior experience with embedded controls systems
  • Proficient in C, C++, Matlab/Simulink, Python
  • Ability to set and balance priorities efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with autonomy and accountability for results.

Responsibilities

  • Be the leader and coach for an Agile Scrum Team on an Agile Release Train (ART)
  • Facilitate the Scrum team’s collaboration activities including daily standups, iteration review, iteration planning, and retrospective.
  • Prepare the team and assist the ART Lead with PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshop
  • Owner and creator of the Team’s activity work board to help the Scrum team complete their committed work
  • Coordinate inter-team cooperation when needed
  • Support Agile Team practices. Some examples are: work in progress limits (WIP), Plan-Do-Check-Adjust Cycle, Innovation & Planning (IP), and fostering technical discipline
  • Primary coach for their team and trains the team in agile software development standards.
  • Guide the team on writing good stories, acceptance criteria, definition of done
  • Guide the team on how to properly story point and establish normalized estimates.
  • Focus the team on completing their team PI Objectives with quality
  • Continuously challenge the team’s normal ways of development to improve areas of quality, predictability, flow, and velocity
  • Eliminate impediments; this can include working with other teams within or outside their ART and managing interpersonal conflicts or challenges
  • Work closely with the Product Owner and support backlog activities
  • Escalate problems to the right people at the right time
  • Engage with ART Lead to improve team’s performance
  • Ensure requirements are documented for design solutions and ensure linkage to test cases (and results) that demonstrates software functionality
  • Utilize automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality at the Function, Controller and System level
  • Coordinate and collaborate with departments outside engineering, such as Systems & Safety Engineering, Electrical Architecture, Calibration and Vehicle Performance as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other applicable Engineering focuses with 5+ years of experience
  • Experience with JIRA, JIRA Align and Git Ecosystem
  • Knowledge and experience with CAN, LIN, or Ethernet communications protocol
  • In-depth knowledge of embedded software and calibration development
  • Knowledge in electrification and diagnostics
  • Experience in plant modeling and analysis tools, MIL, SIL, HIL Testing
  • Understanding of GM Vehicle Development Process
