Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Sustainability, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 10+ years in trade compliance, ESG, and/or risk management roles
- Strong knowledge of international trade laws, ESG regulations, and risk management principles
- Proven leadership experience in a corporate compliance environment
- Experience with regulatory agencies, such as OFAC, BIS, SEC, or EU compliance bodies
- Deep understanding of global regulatory frameworks and compliance standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop and implement cross-functional strategies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High ethical standards and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with global trade laws, including import/export regulations, sanctions, and customs requirements
- Develop and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures, and training programs
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise leadership on potential business impacts
- Conduct risk assessments related to trade operations and implement mitigation strategies
- Oversee compliance with trade agreements, tariffs, and embargoes
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, and supply chain teams to enforce compliance policies
- Lead ESG strategy development and implementation aligned with corporate objectives
- Establish sustainability goals and initiatives, including carbon footprint reduction and ethical sourcing
- Ensure ESG reporting compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., SEC, EU Taxonomy, GRI, SASB)
- Engage with stakeholders, investors, and regulatory bodies on ESG performance
- Develop corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs and diversity & inclusion initiatives
- Identify, assess, and mitigate corporate and operational risks
- Develop risk management frameworks in line with industry best practices
- Implement internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and business continuity
- Lead cross-functional risk management initiatives, including cybersecurity, operational risk, and crisis management
- Collaborate with executive leadership on enterprise risk strategies and reporting
