Requirements
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or related technical subject area
- Highly knowledgeable of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systems
- Experience working and delivery of systems safety analyses on complex systems. Also has experience working anomalies/root cause corrective actions
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Ability to coordinate safety analysis products across collaborators and experts from different engineering fields to develop safety and reliability products
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills and excellent organization skills
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Responsibilities
- Perform and lead engineering activities including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Hazard Reports, Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), reliability analysis, and developing mitigation plans
- Ensuring compliance with AFSPCMAN 91-710 range safety requirements
- Ensure traceability between system and subsystem functions, requirements, and safety artifacts.
- Use system safety products to perform an overall safety analysis of the vehicle to assist the design process and drive design changes where needed
- Assist SLD organization in representing vehicle element within SLD architecture for reliability analyses
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful candidates typically have 5+ years of relevant experience
- M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Electrical, or related technical subject area
- Experience with AFSPCMAN 91-710 Range Safety requirements
- Experience with tools such as Jama, Cameo, Confluence, and JIRA
- Experience with developing and implementing a system safety program plan
