Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on UAS or missile systems and special technologies
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle processes, and methodologies
  • Proficiency in systems modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent
  • Experience with advanced technology integration, including sensors, communication systems, and control systems
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to defense and aerospace systems
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering design and development of special technology solutions for UAS and missile systems
  • Directs research into advanced concepts and prototypes for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems and components to develop new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful integration of advanced technologies into mission systems
  • Develop and document system requirements, specifications, and design documentation
  • Conduct system analysis, modeling, and simulation to support design decisions
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for mission-critical projects
  • Oversee the implementation, testing, and validation of UAS and missile systems and technologies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security protocols
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams
  • Stay current with advancements in UAS, missile technology, and mission systems engineering
  • Assist with proposals to support development of new business
