Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Design, a related field, or relevant professional experience
  • At least 2+ years experience and practical expertise in UX/UI Design
  • Must have experience working on projects in the financial services industry
  • Mobile app design experience
  • Expert proficiency in Figma and its full functionality (e.g., prototyping)
  • Experience adapting abstract and complex ideas into user-friendly designs
  • Advanced knowledge of the end-to-end design process, including UX research, analytics, user flow diagrams, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and high-fidelity visuals
  • A love for feedback, actively seeking it out, and comfortable defending designs if needed
  • Ability to communicate design concepts to designers, developers, and other stakeholders
  • Passion for product design and excitement about influencing the lives of millions of Canadians through design work
  • A portfolio that effectively showcases design skills and experience, and comfort in speaking about it
  • Experience navigating conflicting priorities and turning ambiguity into clarity in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, sitemaps, and pixel-perfect visual designs in Figma considering stakeholder requirements and feedback
  • Leading the creation of various design needs, from low-fidelity mock-ups to high-fidelity designs for developers
  • Actively receiving feedback from stakeholders, including the core product design team and internal/external stakeholders
  • Presenting and articulating design choices and rationale to diverse audiences, both internally and externally
  • Valuing feedback as a critical part of the design process
  • Collaborating with design peers to adapt existing portal designs to specific product group and squad requirements
  • Translating complex fraud scoring engine logic and data into clear, concise, and visually engaging representations
  • Collaborating with the in-house development team to ensure designs are communicated clearly and handed-off efficiently
  • Working closely with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements and feedback for portals
  • Integrating research and usability testing insights into designs with the UX Research team
  • Requesting UX Research when needed and integrating feedback into designs
  • Developing and maintaining detailed design implementation guidelines for accurate and consistent implementation by developers and end-users
  • Championing accessible design and ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A & AA standards
  • Iterating rapidly on design concepts derived from user research, data trends, and emerging technologies
  • Vocalizing improvements to existing products and the overall design process
