Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Value stream design, CPI, Black Belt, Lean transformation, or related supply chain.
  • Knowledge of business process design; ability to develop appropriate techniques to re-examine key processes and focus on optimizing organizational performance.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing, and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business-related activities.
  • Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Excellent communication and data visualization skills; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams globally and gather data for value chain design; knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
  • Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects impacting end-to-end value chain functions in alignment with customer requirements.
  • Leverage manufacturing, supply chain, and sourcing experience to reduce cost and improve product availability.
  • Negotiate source changes with suppliers and procurement teams to reduce lead-times and improve on-time delivery.
  • Evaluate and implement supply chain alternatives to improve competitive position in target regions.
  • Apply mining industry knowledge or experience with heavy fabrications to influence value chain design for new product and new source introductions.
  • Map material flows and lead projects to improve supply chain agility on low volume, high value product.
  • Simulate material flow, optimize sourcing, and develop business cases to prioritize new value chain project ideas.
  • Implement new and enhanced processes and tools across multiple workstreams, tracking metrics and governing the changes to ensure alignment.
  • Maintain and strengthen communications with value chain partners on various projects including participation in NPI, NSI, and CPI teams.
  • Communicate, inspire, and facilitate collaboration within cross-functional teams to execute value chain improvement projects and deliver benefits on-time.
  • Be resilient and contribute creative solutions to drive continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations research, Engineering, Value Stream, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, management, or related quantitative field.
  • Extensive project leadership experience.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Understanding ERP systems’ lead time elements (supply chain, manufacturing, and marketing).
  • Understanding product cost rollups and partial value stream costs.
  • Very strong end-to-end supply base understanding, including customers and dealers.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly within a new environment.
