Requirements
- Veterinary experience, please do not apply if you do not have experience.
- Knowledge of vaccine protocols
- IV catheter placement proficient
Responsibilities
- Actively support veterinarians and other staff in daily patient and client care.
- Observe the behavior and conditions of animals.
- Actively demonstrate dependability and the importance of work to clients, supervisors, and other employees.
- Participate in cross-training and willing to work in all areas of the hospital when needed.
- Easily adapt to situations that arise, such as emergencies, taking initiative, and staying calm in high-pressure situations.
- Prepare animals for surgery, monitor vitals throughout, and following surgery.
- Perform basic in-house lab tests
- Assess patients and update computer records
- Administer medications IV, IM, SQ, and PO.
- Perform accurate blood draws 75% of the time.
- Uphold a clean work environment by following infectious disease protocols, handling bio-medical waste, and medical waste appropriately.
