Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in the health insurance market, with a preference for experience in risk-adjusted lines of business.
  • 10+ years of experience leading teams to deliver exceptional results
  • Preference for experience leading sales teams to execute on sales plans and drive growth for a line of business or product.
  • Exceptional business aptitude, including an understanding of the organizational aspects of providing and financing health care coverage in risk-adjusted business.
  • Strong understanding of local and regional individual market financing and pricing trends.
  • Strong business analytic skills and the ability to coach others to think and measure business effectiveness using business tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including with C-suite leaders.
  • Ability to work and influence in a matrix environment
  • Have an eye towards innovation and emerging trends to support long term objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-channel retail exchange strategy consistent with individual consumer health insurance product branding and sales strategy
  • Collaborate with product management to define, build, and file ACA products that meet market needs and regulatory requirements
  • Develop strategies in conjunction with Product and the local markets in support of the Small Group segment
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Develop strategic approach and priorities in collaboration with other senior leaders and key stakeholders and aligning with Cambia’s overall strategic direction
  • Oversee the operational and financial performance of the ACA line of business, including P&L management and budgeting
  • Ensure compliance with administrative and legal requirements concerning risk adjustment data and submissions
  • Proactively monitor existing divisional/organizational systems, proposed changes thereto, and ongoing projects/implementations to ensure continued compliance within risk adjustment data/processes
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the ACA line of business
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, network developments; fraud and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop plans to address them
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, encouraging experimentation and calculated risk-taking
  • Develop and implement talent development plans to ensure the team has the skills and expertise needed to achieve business objectives
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to Cambia’s values and a passion for delivering exceptional results.
  • Work collaboratively across the matrix organization
  • Oversee development and execution of strategic sales plans, including setting sales targets, identifying sales channels and sales resource allocation
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and developing plans to address them
  • Develop sales commissions plans that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, network, actuary, Commercial Sales leadership, Government Affairs and marketing, to ensure alignment and effective execution of the ACA strategy for both the Individual and Small Group markets
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to drive business outcomes and advance company strategies and objectives.
