Requirements

  • Network Engineer certification or equivalent.
  • Certification or equivalent experience, knowledge and/skill in advanced router and firewall management technologies.
  • Certification or equivalent experience knowledge and skills in Microsoft server administration and networking.
  • Thorough knowledge of LAN and WAN and VOIP management.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practiced networking protocols, terminology, and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of Information Security practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of PC and server hardware and software.
  • Current knowledge of processes, procedures, rules, and regulations pertaining to information technology.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and/or direction.
  • Ability to develop and implement technology projects.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with outside vendors and internal clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the manager and assistant managers of the Infrastructure, Desktop Support and Digital Records and Automation groups as a key contributor on technical issues impacting the organization.
  • Work closely with SVP and VP of Innovation and Development to maintain the company’s overall IT budget.
  • Ensure effective daily operations and uptime of the core operating systems and all critical applications.
  • Prioritize problem resolution and ensure effective issue management.
  • Maintain inventory of all IT assets and ensure effective administration and maintenance to include patching on all systems.
  • Evaluate hardware and software acquisitions and implementation.
  • Ensure effective capacity planning to meet current and planned projects.
  • Manage staff including setting goals, work assignments and productivity to ensure superior service and goals are met.
  • Recruit, select, train, motivate, coach, and conduct performance evaluations with department staff.
  • Conduct regular staff and coaching meetings.
  • Establish goals and work plans consistent with RCU needs and monitor progress.
  • Recommend methods and procedures to improve department efficiency of both the employee development and communication programs.
  • Recommend, monitor, and adjust department expenses and related budgets.
  • Attend internal and external management meetings and represent the Credit Union at external functions and activities.
  • Create, plan, direct and manage a comprehensive practice for information security, standards and internal controls that ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all systems.
  • Identify design and align security standards to industry best practice such as ISO 27000 and regulatory bodies such as NCUA and DFI.
  • Develop, coordinate and conducts internal security reviews and produce monthly report on security status.
  • Maintain awareness and respond to security threats with effective vulnerability management tactics.
  • Ensure security measures and practices to include patching, virus scanning, and controls meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate new technologies to ensure adequate security measures and controls.
  • Ensure, update, and enhance effective change control practice to mitigate risks.
  • Work with auditors and examiners responding to audit items and ensure effective, timely remediation of recommendations and findings.
  • Research, draft, and recommend security enhancements based on industry trends and risks.
  • Develop, enhance, and ensure effective incident management, disaster recovery and redundancy to meet organizational business continuity requirements.
  • Evaluate new technologies relating to core business functions.
  • Draft and recommend technology plans and requirements for business needs.
  • Conduct assessments with vendors and Senior Leadership to identify future technological needs.
  • Lead project initiatives as assigned utilizing effective project management practices.
  • Develop and recommend procedures to ensure effective management of IT.
  • Develop and maintain effective management reporting methods including statistical reports on uptime, capacity, and security stance.
  • Manage external partnerships and vendor contacts including research, negotiation, and selection.
  • Perform special projects, research and analysis as requested.
  • Serve in the absence of the SVP/Information Technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in community events, community volunteer boards & associations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, and Microsoft MSCE or equivalent preferred.
