Requirements

  • 15+ years of engineering experience, including 6+ years leading large, distributed technical teams
  • A strong track record building and scaling user-facing digital products in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Demonstrated success in a leadership role driving product-engineering collaboration with measurable business outcomes
  • Experience supporting or building both consumer facing and B2B products
  • Comfort balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day team needs
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with an ability to connect technical solutions to user and business value
  • A passion for building inclusive teams, mentoring others, and leading with empathy
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and architectures (e.g., microservices, event-driven systems, cloud-native environments)

Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with product and business goals—particularly across our Enterprise and B2B offerings, ensuring we meet the needs of organizations supporting their employees’ care journeys.
  • Hire, coach, and retain top engineering talent. Create an inclusive and supportive environment where diverse voices are heard, growth is encouraged, and high standards are the norm.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data to define and deliver customer-centric solutions at speed, balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform health.
  • Foster best practices in software development, system design, reliability, and operational excellence. Promote thoughtful experimentation, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand customer needs and build the infrastructure and experiences that make Care.com indispensable to our employer partners and their employees.
