Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in data architecture, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director/VP level).
- Strong domain expertise in insurance (P&C, Life, or Health), with an understanding of policy, claims, underwriting, and actuarial processes.
- Proven ability to influence senior executives and drive enterprise-wide data strategy.
- Experience with modern data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of data modeling, metadata management, data governance, and MDM.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML, predictive analytics, and real-time data processing for business impact.
- Experience in leading large-scale data transformations in a federated enterprise environment.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge business and technology teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise data architecture, aligning with business objectives and digital transformation initiatives.
- Establish robust data governance, data management, and cloud-based architecture frameworks, ensuring scalable and secure data solutions.
- Bring deep understanding of policy, claims, underwriting, actuarial, and regulatory requirements to design industry-specific data solutions.
- Lead the modernization of data platforms (cloud, on-prem, hybrid), data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time analytics to drive business insights.
- Partner with the C-suite, business leaders, and technology executives to advocate for data-driven culture, architectural best practices, and innovation.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards (NAIC, GDPR, CCPA, IFRS 17, etc.), embedding governance into architecture.
- Build and mentor a high-performing data architecture team, while working closely with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver strategic outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a CDAO, or Chief Architect function is a plus.
- Familiarity with GenAI applications in insurance and advanced analytics use cases.
- Strong understanding of FinOps in cloud-based data environments.
