Requirements

  • Advanced degree in biomedical sciences (MD, PhD)
  • 5-7+ years of experience in a medical communications agency
  • Experience in multiple therapeutic areas
  • Proven experience managing multiple teams and client accounts
  • A track record of successful new business pitches
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, internet search, and PubMed

Responsibilities

  • Participate in recruitment efforts, attracting top talent to VML Health.

  • Support fellow senior managers and contribute to a collaborative leadership team.
  • Structure, plan, resource, and lead new business pitches.
  • Network and collaborate with VML Health and WPP.
  • Maintain a strong network of external relationships in the medical education and pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Champion brands by maximizing scientific data to meet strategic goals and long-term vision.
  • Serve as the scientific point of contact, translating complex science into strategic content.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of therapeutic markets and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Delegate, supervise, and review scientific content, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Write, edit, and rewrite medical content as needed.
  • Develop and participate in strategic planning, ensuring alignment between issues, strategies, and programming.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs).
  • Serve as a key client contact, building strong relationships and providing scientific guidance.
  • Develop and maintain harmonious relationships with client teams at all levels.
  • Share timely market insights and provide proactive recommendations to clients.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and identify solutions to strengthen relationships.
  • Resolve client conflicts quickly and efficiently.
  • Participate in the development of breakthrough creative and innovative programs.
  • Ensure high-quality agency output, rejecting materials that don’t meet standards.
  • Secure and manage external scientific resources as needed.
