Requirements
- 3 years of healthcare environment or waste related experience
- Demonstrated strong communication and the ability to apply influencing practices across a varying range of personnel
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage both small and large-scale project management projects
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter with proven experience in problem solving
- Proven organizational skills including the ability to be detail-oriented
- Ability to use a personal phone continuously for work purposes
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Environmental Service leaders for opportunities to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste
- Manage hauler relationships, service frequency, invoicing, and data to meet organization goals
- Proactively interact with internal customers, vendors, and municipalities to optimize compliance, operations, and contract performance
- Travel in company vehicle to designated sites to audit waste containers to keep the program sustainable and compliant
- Coordinates projects and programs that promote safety, collaboration, and teamwork among employees and stakeholders
- Educate and answer employees waste related questions and concerns as the subject matter expert
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred)
- Ability to understand a waste invoice, measure volume, and recommend reduction opportunities from analogy (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of State and Federal USDOT, NIOSH, OSHA, and Joint Commission regulations related to waste and/or healthcare (preferred)
