Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience in incident response, security operations or a related field required, with a demonstrated history of excellence and reliability
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Proficient and accurate typing skills

Responsibilities

  • Dispatches and coordinates response to incidents that occur on Alcon premises, using the appropriate communication methods
  • Monitors access control system and supports badge access functions as directed
  • Monitors intelligence providers and news sources for global events with the potential to impact Alcon’s global operations and disseminating information for review by leadership.
  • Actively seeks information on incidents that may pose potential impact(s) to global sites and communicates with site points of contact effectively.
  • Actively monitors open-source media, third-party subscription services, and other sources in real time for issues that could affect business operations and personnel.
  • Uses SOPs, training knowledge, research resources, and critical thinking skills to escalate impactful events as appropriate to Watch Officer Lead(s).
  • Produces written incident reports that include a summation of the event, its impact (or potential impact) to Alcon, and the current status of the response with minimal syntax errors.
  • Maintains constant documentation of events that happened on their shift.
  • Understands client’s global footprint and interests to anticipate client needs.
  • Receives, evaluates, and disseminates information and reports from on-site security personnel, global POCs, employees, and other sources, engaging and sharing with Watch Officer Lead(s) as applicable.
  • Works with security team members effectively and efficiently.
  • Suggests potential improvements to the program to Watch Officer Lead(s), or to the GSOC Manager, as applicable.
  • Tracks and reports metrics around production and deliverables.
  • Is consistently engaged on a daily basis with teammates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent military/security experience producing clear and concise written reports required
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to operate effectively with a medium degree of autonomy and moderate supervision
  • Intelligence analysis and/or threat assessment knowledge.
  • General understanding of site security operations
  • Intermediate communication skills
  • Intermediate attention to detail and ability to follow protocols with the drive to progress and learn.
  • Able to provide clear and concise verbal briefings
  • Familiarity with global affairs and events, with the ability to contextualize against Alcon’s global footprint
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Google Earth and Maps
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Fast learner and ability to multitask
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work with little supervision
  • Ability to adhere to timelines and deadlines with effective time management skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive professional rapport with other Watch Officers, Watch Officer Lead(s), GSOC Manager, R&I Director, the greater security leadership, and client stakeholders
  • Foreign travel and functional experience preferred
