Requirements

  • Must successfully pass an initial and annual company arranged hazardous material medical physical exam.
  • Must successfully pass an initial and annual respirator fit test.
  • Must successfully complete Hazardous Waste Operations Training – 40 hour Hazwoper Training and annual 8 hour refresher course.
  • Must successfully complete training on the following subjects including but not limited to: and 1st Aid/CPR, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space Entry, Confined Space Rescue.
  • Must wear ANSI safety shoes steel toe and personal protective equipment.
  • Daily and punctual attendance in the job site is required.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, operates, and performs repairs and preventive maintenance on various virgin and waste bulk chemical and industrial wastewater systems.
  • Operates industrial facilities to control flow and processing of streams such as water, wastewater, steam, compressed air, sludge and effluents.
  • Monitors control panels and panelboard and adjusts controls, valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow, pressure, elevation, and distribution.
  • Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, gates, engines, generators and valves into plant to regulate processes.
  • Maintains shift log, observes variations in operating conditions; records and interprets meter and gauge readings.
  • Processes, hauls, and applies bio-solids and other process residuals in accordance with plant schedules and regulatory requirements.
  • Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs facility equipment and instrumentation.
  • Utilizes data management tools for daily process control, such as computer spreadsheets and programs.
  • Performs custodial duties as required.
  • Participates as an active member of site emergency response team, including hazardous material and hazardous waste spill response.
  • Must wear a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and be clean shaven at all times while performing job functions at the client site.
  • Performs confined space entry, attendant, and rescue duties.
