Requirements
- 2+ years of web development experience, with an emphasis on the front-end.
- Experience with React and familiarity with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Fluency with HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript standards.
- Knowledge and familiarity with modern digital design and prototyping tools (like Figma).
- Experience and comfort with Git and version control.
- Experience working with REST APIs and/or GraphQL.
- A strong desire to learn from others and grow as an engineer.
- Good communication skills – you enjoy asking questions, documenting your work, and learning from feedback.
Responsibilities
- Contribute maintainable, well-tested, accessible, and well-documented code to the repositories and systems that power HashiCorp’s website.
- Collaborate closely with teammates in engineering, design, and marketing to build high-quality web experiences.
- Participate in code reviews and team pairing sessions to learn from and support your peers.
- Independently and collaboratively identify user (both internal and external) problems and advocate for pragmatic, iterative solutions through prototypes and written proposals.
- Collaborate in product discovery and early design to assess technical feasibility.
- In close step with designers, execute front-end projects with meticulous polish.
- Communicate technical opinions and project rationale to other engineers and leadership.
- Take part in project planning, check-ins, and retrospectives to stay aligned with the team’s goals and priorities.
- During execution, work ‘in the open’, sharing your thoughts, ideas, progress, blockers, and code freely with others on the team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Next.js and the Vercel platform.
- Experience working with Design Systems.
- Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience working with a headless CMS.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards and inclusive design principles, including a basic understanding of WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards.
